In the picturesque Essex village of Tollesbury, on the shores of the Blackwater Estuary, we have a marine industry customer. The customer has two units on opposite sides of a road which we previously linked with a Wi-Fi bridge. After years of reliable service the construction of a new steel framed building between the units caused frequent, short service drop-outs making business as usual a challenge.
The Horizone engineering team determined that even though the Wi-Fi bridge dishes retained line-of-sight there was sufficient signal reflection from the new building’s steel frame to cause signal disruption. Reliable service was quickly restored by mounting one dish on a 4m aluminium pole.
