Do you use Microsoft 365?  Cyber crime is getting closer, please read on.  Back in May we published AN ARTICLE explaining how cyber crime could impact you irrespective of how big your business is or what you do.

In a troubling development we are seeing a growing number of Microsoft 365 email hacks.  A member of your team clicks a link in an email or web page both of which give an attacker browser access to your colleague’s MS 365 Exchange Online email account. The attacker then set rules which diverted incoming emails containing certain words to them.  Now they can send emails on behalf of your colleague who is unaware they are being impersonated.   A common scam is sending invoices to your customers with their bank details not yours.

The cyber security counter measures you already have in place might not detect MS 365 email hacks as the breach outside your LAN in the cloud.  However for a modest monthly cost per user Bitdefender XDR from Horizone monitors MS 365 activity meaning email hacks are often detected.  We plan to offer more safeguards soon so watch this space as they say.

From a cyber crime perspective the threat is increasing but our hope is to provide solutions to help you worry less so please GET IN TOUCH.
